A Bridge to the Future of Logistics – Ninecon and OCQ Success Story!

The project, which took 9 months to complete, involved implementing the new solution across Grupo OCQ’s facilities located in the cities of Guarulhos, Jaguariúna, and Monte Mor in the state of São Paulo. In addition, it enabled the creation of on-demand automated processes that are less manual and less prone to human error, leveraging the Artificial Intelligence capabilities available within OTM Cloud.

Grupo OCQ is one of the largest players in the chemical sector across Latin America and operates with the mission of serving a wide range of markets and business profiles, delivering expertise and cutting-edge solutions in the supply of raw materials and inputs to its customers. The company faces the challenge of maintaining operational excellence across more than 30 facilities spread throughout 7 countries and 8 Brazilian states.

The adoption of a solution such as Oracle Transportation Management System (TMS) Cloud was aimed at bringing the benefits of a robust, fully cloud-based platform to OCQ’s transportation management operations. Designed to create more effective transportation plans and optimize processes across both its logistics network and inbound and outbound order management with logistics partners, the solution provides the level of support required by an organization of OCQ’s scale, with dozens of operational facilities demanding excellence at every stage.

With that in mind, our implementation project was designed to improve OCQ’s freight procurement processes through route analysis with load consolidation, eliminate losses caused by additional charges related to issues such as redelivery and detention, and optimize cargo utilization through better alignment between shipment profiles, load occupancy, and carrier capabilities. The planning and routing mechanisms provided by the TMS introduced new distribution topologies, identifying the most cost-effective transportation mode among LTL, FTL, Milk Run, and Drop and Hook operations with multiple stops.

It is also worth highlighting that, through Planning-OTM, all outbound requests are now planned automatically, creating optimized loads based on both delivery timelines and transportation costs. According to the company’s CIO, Cláudia Ferraz, the implementation of the solution enabled OCQ to achieve a 75% reduction in the time required to perform daily routing activities.

The project, which took 9 months to complete, involved implementing the new solution across Grupo OCQ’s facilities located in Guarulhos, Jaguariúna, and Monte Mor. Furthermore, it enabled the creation of on-demand automated processes that are less manual and less vulnerable to human error, leveraging the Artificial Intelligence capabilities provided by the TMS.
