The vehicles of communication define socio-environmental responsibility as a responsible attitude of the business sector in relation to the environment and society; social inclusion through the private sector; business and non-financial investment; more than philanthropy, which is the way in which an institution integrates itself by becoming co-responsible for the society's development.
NineCon will be working directly to increase awareness of the importance of material recycling.
It embraced the cause of the NGO Moinho de Pedra do Guarapiranga, joining a voluntary work of dissemination through the means available like site and marketing material, thus encouraging participation of its customers, partners and staff in social works, seeking to contribute toward decreasing these inequalities.
Moinho de Pedra do Guarapiranga, an institution set up in 1998 literally below a bridge and without religious dogmas, respecting differences of race and belief of each individual, has always counted on voluntary donations.
Today, in its new facilities, it caters for about 114 children and teenagers aged from 3 to 17 years, with capacity to increase the number of attendances.
Having as basic principle to transmit ethical and moral education to the individual, Moinho de Pedra do Guarapiranga works with poor children and teenagers, complementing academic education and keeping them out of the streets.
It ministers classes in Portuguese, math, verbal expression, artistic education and child recreation for groups of approximately 10 students, with duration of 2 hours, on three weekdays, period during which lunch is provided, as a motivational factor and daily nutritional complementation.
Moinho de Pedra do Guarapiranga's dream goes much further. It intends to build a children’s library and introduce ballet, computer, martial arts and capoeria classes and extend its work to mothers of the community with handicraft classes.
NineCon believes in the continuity of this project and hopes to have the support of other companies, which like it have socio-environmental responsibility linked to their corporate culture.
